Euromeeting FAQ
What is a Euromeeting?
The Euromeeting is also called “numbermeeting” because all Round Table Clubs with the same number (in our case number 54) from all over Europe meet once a year. At Round Table 54 the South African table 54 joins the Euromeetings.
Who can join a Euromeeting?
Basically all tablers with their families are invited to all Euromeetings. But also guests and friends join our fun-events. Every Round Tabler should attend the Euromeetings if possible by means of time.
Where is the Euromeeting taking place?
The place changes every year. In our case a Club is obliged to organise the Euromeeting every 9 years.
What is homehosting?
The actual and former members of the organising club will open their houses and flats to host the guests from all over the world. Thus there is enough time for talking and getting to know each other.
What is the “cheese”?
The cheese (some call it cake also) ist a piece of wood and kind of a jigsaw.
Every euromeeting table owns a piece of the cheese. At the official
table evening the pieces are brought together by the Chairmen and put
into the cheese tray.
At the gala night every table gets his cheese back but some are also stolen by other tables.
What about the traditional sketches?
Every table performs some kind of cultural performance on the euromeeting weekend. This can be a funny joke, a play, musik or just random behaviour on the stage. It is great fun for the audience anyway.
